Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is a program for the unbaptized, those baptized in other Christian churches, and baptized unconfirmed Catholics who are seeking acceptance and full communion within the Catholic Church. The journey to faith is based in philosophy, Scripture, and Sacred Theology, and usually involves groups of 50-70 people who meet in Seton Hall on Sunday mornings.
Lectures and presentations include a Bible Question and Answer column and seasonal informational articles in the Shrine Herald regarding the particular themes of Advent and Lent. Special programs and speakers augment understanding of the liturgy and readings; an advisory group helps develop and implement a broad range of services to meet the wide range of needs within our very large family.
Scripture Study is an essential component of Adult Formation and several ongoing programs are offered, and a new "Moms and the Word" group meet on Friday mornings. The "Little Rock Scripture Series" along with other sources and maps are used as background to bring the scriptures to life.
